Tucker and Tate Socks | Cotton Blend Kids' Crew & Ankle Styles

★★★★★4.8· thousands of reviews

Our Tucker and Tate socks are designed for kids who play hard and parents who need laundry-day solutions that actually last. Each six-pack includes a mix of solid and patterned crew socks made from a soft cotton blend with reinforced heels and toes. The fabric wicks moisture during recess sprints and soccer practice, while the stretch cuff stays put without leaving marks.

We built these socks for everyday wear—school mornings, weekend errands, and everything in between. The mid-calf length works with sneakers, boots, and sandals, and the machine-washable construction means you can toss them straight into the regular load without worrying about shrinkage or color fade.

Fabric & Construction Details

We use a 76% cotton, 22% polyester, 2% spandex blend across both our crew and ankle sock lines. The cotton provides breathability and softness against skin, while the polyester adds durability through repeated wash cycles. That 2% spandex gives just enough stretch to move with growing feet without sagging or losing shape after a full day of wear.

Reinforced heels and toes use a double-knit construction in the zones that wear out fastest. We’ve tested these socks through hundreds of playground slides, trampoline sessions, and living-room dance parties—the heel counter holds up to friction inside sneakers, and the toe box resists holes even when kids refuse to trim their toenails on schedule. The same practical construction philosophy that guides our everyday underwear essentials carries into every sock we make.

Sizing & Fit Guidance
Sizing & fit

Sizing & Fit Guidance

Our socks come in three size ranges: Toddler fits shoe sizes 5–9 (roughly ages 2–4), Kids XS fits shoe sizes 9–12 (ages 4–6), Kids S/M fits 12.5–3 (ages 6–9), and Kids L fits 3.5–6 (ages 9–12). We recommend sizing up if your child is between ranges or prefers a looser fit.

Crew vs. Ankle: Which to Choose

Crew socks sit mid-calf and work best when kids need full coverage for boots, cooler weather, or school dress codes that require visible socks. Ankle socks suit warmer months, athletic shoes, and any situation where a low profile is more comfortable. Both styles use the same non-binding cuff technology—no red marks at the end of the day.

Styling

Care Instructions & Longevity

Machine wash cold or warm with like colors. Tumble dry on low heat or line dry to extend fabric life. We do not recommend bleach or fabric softener—both can break down the spandex fibers and reduce stretch over time.

Most families get 12–18 months of regular wear from a single six-pack before outgrowing the size. The reinforced zones mean you’ll usually retire these socks because feet grew, not because holes appeared. Turn socks right-side out before washing to protect any interior silicone grips on the ankle styles.

Finally, socks that stay on all day
I've tried at least five brands and these are the only ones that don't end up bunched in my son's sneakers by lunchtime. The cuff stays put without being tight. We've washed them probably 30 times and they still look new.

Perfect for active kids
My daughter is hard on clothes and these socks have held up through soccer, gymnastics, and daily playground time. No holes in the toes yet and we're on month six. The ankle style is her favorite for sports.

Great quality, runs slightly large
We ordered the toddler size for our three-year-old and they're a bit roomy, but she'll grow into them. The fabric is really soft and the patterns are cute without being babyish. Would buy again.

Laundry-day miracle
These actually come out of the dryer the same size they went in. I can't say that about most kids' socks. The colors haven't faded and the elastic is still strong after dozens of washes.

Best value for the price
Six pairs for sixteen dollars is already a good deal, but the fact that they last this long makes them even better. My kids are rough on everything and these socks just keep going.

No more morning battles
My son used to complain that socks were 'too tight' or 'too scratchy' every single morning. These are the first ones he'll put on without a fight. The seams are flat and the fabric is really soft inside.

Questions About Tucker and Tate Socks

Our socks are pre-shrunk and maintain their size through normal wash and dry cycles. We recommend tumble drying on low heat to preserve the spandex elasticity over time, but most families use medium heat without issue. If you're between sizes, ordering one size up gives a bit more growing room without affecting the fit.

The crew socks sit mid-calf and provide full coverage for boots, cooler weather, or school dress codes. The ankle socks have a low-cut profile that sits just above the shoe collar, ideal for sneakers and warmer months. Both use the same cotton-blend fabric and reinforced construction—the only difference is the height.

All of our Tucker and Tate socks are designed as unisex basics. The sizing is based on shoe size rather than gender, and the color palettes work for any child. We include a mix of solids and simple patterns that coordinate with most wardrobes.

Each sock is labeled with the size on the sole, which helps with sorting after washing. Many parents use a mesh laundry bag for kids' socks or safety-pin pairs together before tossing them in the machine. The distinct color combos in each pack also make it easier to spot matches.

We currently offer socks in six-packs for crew styles and three-packs for ankle styles only. The multi-pack format keeps costs down and ensures you have backup pairs when some inevitably disappear into the laundry abyss.

The ankle socks feature a silicone grip at the heel to prevent slipping inside shoes, but the soles are smooth for wearing with footwear. Our crew socks do not have bottom grips. If you need non-slip slipper socks for indoor wear, we recommend checking our seasonal sleepwear collection.

Our size range covers toddlers through preteens, roughly ages two to twelve. Sizing is based on shoe size rather than age, so check your child's current shoe measurement before ordering. The Toddler range fits shoe sizes five through nine, and our largest Kids size fits shoe sizes 3.5 through six.
